Davis and Parting Gifts

Just as Clinton held a going-away pardoning session, I suspect that Davis will hold a going-away gift-giving session tonight.

Folks, Here's your opportunity to attend a board meeting that is about giving; giving away your tax dollars. Something is in the air with regard to some of the contracts on the meeting agenda. And, I think that some FOD's (Friends of Davis) are going to receive a gift that keeps on giving.

Attend and watch for yourself.

Do you want to call something out specifically or is this just another one of your unwarranted broadside attacks?

Jim Fedako said...

Come on now ... like a good movie teaser, I can't give away the ending. But, there is enough there for you to figure it all out.

Or, just attend the meeting to see for yourself.

This certainly looks likes a busy agenda. Then again, I'm not sure what a typical agenda looks like--are they all like this? If not, then what's the occasion?

Hey Jim...

Maybe we could call this "National Treasure III"!

I'll be sure not to miss the showing tonight...but I do love a good trailer!

Come on give us little tease..I'm really busy today!

Anonymous said...

Holy cow... looks like with the levy passing, everyone is getting their stockings filled for Spring!

Quick question.. how does one get their hands on all of the "attachments / appendixes"?

Jim Fedako said...

You have to submit a public records request to the disrict treasurer. For some reason, the district does not like to publish the exhibits.

This is directed to Annonymous whom asked Mr. Fedako about "just another one of your unwarranted broadside attacks". Why would you ever say such a thing? As a taxpayer, which I am sure you are, are you at all curious to know why, the levy passes and suddenly it looks like Christmas at Olengangy! Do you have any regard with what they are actually spening your monies on? Or let me guess, you are one of those frivolous spenders that feels that spending every dime is going to give our children the best education! I am sure the High School students that are going to be recieving those 'electric ' violins are going to have a better education then Dublin or Arlington.

Holy crap--how do I cash in on this?
I want mine, too!!!

Anonymous said...

I say it because Mr. Fedako is very good at making broad accusations with nothing to back it up and no specifics for anyone to investigate.

I'm sure the levy may have something to do with the agenda. There were quite a few things that were put on hold to see if there were going to be funds to pay for them or not.

There also looks like the new High School is getting ready and it is time to polish it off.

But I see nothing to suggest that anyone is getting paid off or rewarded as Jim suggests.

8:10pm....so...you didn't actually attend the board meeting?

Let me just say...over 400 employees of the district hit the lotto tonight.

Contract extensions a plenty and the current ones don't expire until 7/31/09.

And a new adminstrator gets a 6.75% tax deferred annuity in addition to their 24.5% STRS..and 25 days vacation. And others don't.

Oh it was a textbook case of how much patronage can Scottie give on the way to becoming a "Consultant" for the district.

I need a drink to calm my nerves after this disgraceful public meeting...I'll offer more later!

Oh and to 5:35pm's point...Electric violins paid for by the district..come on that's a waste.

Jim Fedako said...

Bobbleheads ... It's time to weigh in about how this is all in the interest of students and taxpayers.

Despite the evidence, it's time to knee-jerk your "I support my district."

Seems the district it Raiff ...I mean rife with questionable compensation decisions.

This is like National Treasure...except its our money I'm finding!!!

correction...is instead of it.

Surreal.
OFK must be proud.
This is what they fought for: -electric violins
-wholesale, mid-contract extensions
-6.75% tax sheltered annuities for friends of Davis

How was any of this "for the kids"?
I guess wooden violins are not cool anymore...

It will be days before we tally the totality of the largess that covered the district like a thick, smothering blanket tonight.

Jim Fedako said...

Where is the Stan Chorus singing ... "It's all for the kids."

Anonymous said...

So...central office do-littles--sorry, er, "Davis's Cabinet" receive 14% STRS, the 10% employer share picked up by the district, and then a 6.75% tax deferred annuity? That's 31% added on top of salary. PLUS, they are exempt from paying Social Security, so that's worth another couple percent.

So, someone making $100,000 is GIVEN at least $31,000 more annually, courtesy of the taxpayer.

Astonishing.

You are forgetting that "it's all for the kids."

Stam, Back me up on this!

Some comments that made my blood boil:

"These policies have worked for 9 years, so I see no reason to change them."

"It is all about leadership. We have attained these excellent ratings through excellent leadership." (implied that parents had nothing to do with the success of the kids... I mean, we're chopped liver I guess.)

"There is a process, that when followed, yields results. That's my advice to you Ms. Smith."

So, it is all about big brother, not changing a thing, and forcing everyone else to abide by their guidance. I've never smelled so much Socialism in my life.

And the friends and family plan is alive and well. It's funny how more principals and teachers showed up tonight than previous board meetings. Could that be becuase it resulted in them getting a big fat contract extension. NO WAY!

They showed up for the kids I'm sure!

Kudos to Ms. Smith who continued, under duress from her unprepared peers, to ask a lot of questions that are very relevant in an evnironment that doesn't allow for anyone to buck the system. We need two more like her on the board and we can get this bus back on track!

Some curious facts about our "socialist" board:

Scott Galloway was once a member of the Delaware County Republican Party Central Committee – Finance and Development committees. I don't know, he still may be.

Dimon McFerson contributed to the campaign of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Feasel served or might still be serving as communication director for the conservative, pro-business (of course), Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

Teri Meider contributed to the re-election campaign of Republican Mike Dewine.

All of this information is online, one only need to do a google search for it.

Are you seeing a pattern here? Can you see why so many no longer support the republican party? Is it now a party of socialists, as one of you posted?

Our board appears to be full of big spending republicans. The worst kind of politician in my opinion.

After an empassioned public comment about opening up the process of hiring the new super...Mr. Mc wanted to ask a clarifing question as per the existing "we don't provide answers to the public because the meeting might go long" (and cause us to miss American Idol). Mr. Mc issued this Clinton like clarifying question....

If I may paraphrase Mr. Mc and his Bill Clinton impersonation..."I did not make decisions with that woman, Mrs. Meider, to hire Mr. Scott..."even though we were absolutely blown away by him in the interview that we (McP/Meider only) conducted"

"The board made the final decision"

Sounds like a denial or answer to the public question...which isn't allowed by the current rules that McMeider fought not to change 3 minutes earlier.

Hey Stan, you want to watch good reality TV...come to a board meeting, sit in the plush "Board Room" much more comfortable than the visitors bleacher without backs...it is like watching the Wonderful World of Disney, reality version!!!!

I say Socialism because last night was very much a "give to the teachers take from the taxpayer" night.

And the "I'm big brother, I know best" tone that Mr. Mc applied to the contracting of McDavisMeider Consulting Search firm was also very typical of a Socialist.

While they may contribute to the Republican cause, they are acting very much like Liberal Republicans who are just barely 1 step right of center politics.

I attended the meeting last night. What a complete waste of time. It looked just like the last few commisssioners meetings (except for "gavel boy"). They have their own agenda, they do not want any discussion, and they will continue to spend tax money freely untill VOTED OUT. The only person wilth any balls was Jenifer Smith. They treated her like an alien virus from outer space. Get ready here comes another Halls Furniture Building! Sick of This
