Fedako and Kingston Township Finances

The last two Kingston Township audits (performed by the Auditor of State) report findings for recovery involving the two incumbents running for reelection. That means each of those incumbents had to pay back your tax dollars ... and they have the nerve to run once again.

The last township audit is 25 pages. Take off ten pages for title page, introductory message from the state auditor, etc., and financial text of the audit covers 15 pages. However, only 9 of those pages deal with township financials. The remaining six pages are a list of material weaknesses, material noncompliance, and findings for recovery.

So, we, the taxpayers, are reliant on the state to audit township finances. And I can only imagine what the state might have missed.

The books are a mess. And our trustees have had to repay money ...  your money ... which is completely unacceptable.

Volpe was cited for findings for recovery in both of the last two audits, totally over $1000 in repayments. Can you really make the same mistake twice and still face the taxpayers?

That is the experience Volpe and Shively are running on.

Amazing.

It is time for a change.
