Dave King thanks his friends

In this week's edition of ThisWeek Olentangy, newly elected school board member Dave King has a letter thanking his friends. His friends?!? Isn't that what he plans on doing after he is sworn in?

And I bet King has a lot of friends that he plans on thanking -- or a few friends that he plans on thanking a lot (keep in mind that King makes his living [inter alia] by getting contracts from various local governments).

Folks, hold onto your wallet -- King is on the board.

Note: By thanking his friends, King sounds like he just won election to high school student council -- and his friends are about to get the choice photos in the yearbook (Ok, mixing two high school offices, but you get the point).

$34MM in saves...$42MM bond residuals...Hmmm...

If, year after year and build after build we were to see that the Development Committee costed the schools at "X" amount but the district levied them at "Y" amount (using the higher OSFC rates as benchmarks, for example) is that fraud? And what culpability would Dave King and the other members of the Development Committee have in that fraud? After all, the members of the Development Committee would have known what the true cost-to-build was vs. the amount placed on the levy. Just curious. Has anybody ever bothered to do the analysis?

Hey now...he's just a volunteer who gives endless hours to the district!

LMAO!!!!!!

Yes. He volunteers in order to raise his profile professionally (his work with OLSD is featured in his company bio). Altruism, capitalist-style (note small "c").

Look at every OLSD build of the last ten yars as a multi-million dollar Dave King business card.

I am just wondering if any of you even really know Dave King and who he is as a person? I am willing to be that none of you do and you are just speculating because it gives you something to whine about. I am sure the people in this community who know him as an honest, kind and giving person far outweigh those who don't know him at all and just want to sling mud for the sake of slinging mud. If you thought he was so bad before, why were there no complaints in the years he was on the development committee?

5:26 -- I'm betting that most -- and likely all -- commenters know Dave King.

I know Dave King. He doesn't wear socks with dress shoes. While that was cool in the 70's during Dave's prime, it's now 2009.

Since you seem to know him personally, please let Dave know that we aren't partying like it's 1999 anymore. Also, ask Dave to look out the front window when driving this district off the cliff. If he continues to look in the rear view mirror, admiring what has been "accomplished" over the past ten years, he'll only see the dust cloud post impact.

Look Ralph --

King has friends and times are tough. Let him thank his friends the best way he knows how. If it ends up costing you another $100 per month in property taxes, remember this: its all for the kids.

Where was your holier than thou, Dave is a great citizen, self during the campaign as he, Feasel and their surrogates were throwing out lies and deceit about the their fellow citizens and competition....all the while he and Feasel were collecting cash from subordinates and the supreme Board Leader Dimon??

You mean that guy...right?

Dave King doesn't wear socks with dress shoes? Does he also wear a pastel linen jacket with a t-shirt ala Sonny Crocket from Miami Vice? LOL. I can hear the cheesy Jan Hammer theme music now when he enters the board room. Thanks for poisoning my image of him! LOL!!

Who's slinging mud? Oh, you mean the Feasel-King surrogates who attacked other candidates. Or, my favorite, Dave King's treasurer--2007 loser Mark Ianotta--attacking Grubbe and Siefring. And Feasel-King had to balls to claim that they conducted a "positive" campaign? That statement was as phony as their campaign. It was an AD campaign, absent of any debate like a REAL campaign.

Dave King was on the agenda last night.

Can anyone confirm a sighting of dress socks w/ dress shoes? Or Flip Flops? Or No Socks and Dress Shoes? Let me guess... a Red Wool Coat with a green and red plad shirt to ring in Christmas 80's style. Someone who was there, to tell please!

Oh, and was there any content to his presentation?
